Tried to load app. The consent wont complete because it cannot validate email. Says the server stopped responding when I click the link. Disappointed
Crashing on Alertness Testing Results, hopeful for this app.
(Update: After restarting my iPhone the app showed up in Apple Watch companion app. Increased to 3 star review) For some reason the SleepHealth app is not visible under the list of apps in the "Watch" application on my iPhone. Since it is not viewable I can not sync it to my watch. The iPhone app seems to work fine and if I find this to be "user error" on my part I will update my review. Until then I cant say Im impressed since the Apple Watch function was the main reason for downloading and participating in this research.
First day that it comes out, and it crashes before the app even opens.
Need a verification email to join, but it doesnt send it. No go.
So heres an idea why not use the watch or the phone to measure sleep quality. Plenty of apps to partner with. My wife had a big sleep tracker from the doctor strapped to her and Sleep+ or sleep cycle apps were just as accurate. Basically this app is just a daily questionnaire. The UI is also very basic. Pretty poor effort.
Interesting app. Consent worked but Apple Watch app loads and crashes.
Easy to follow. Hope I can have better sleep tonight
Ive gone through the consent process 5 or 6 times. It just starts over every time I finish.
Despite this being one of the main benefits of ResearchKit, and despite the fact that it asks for access to sleep data from Health, theres no evidence that this app pulls in sleep data written to Health from other apps (something that I assume many folks with sleep apnea do). Instead it asks you how many hours you slept and how many times you woke up, which is a way more unreliable measure than motion data from a watch app like Sleep++ or Sleep Cycle.
I understand this is part of a sleep study. Ive had sleep issues in the past with sleep, so when I heard about this, I was all over it. But, having waited over 12 hours, Ive yet to receive the conformational email (Ive asked for a resend too). I guess its a non issue on my part. The developers are the missing missing out on crucial data for their study. Also, the link in the app description leads to the website, but there is no way to contact them with questions, suggestions, etc.
App doesnt allow you to use it unless you participate in study. I want to try the app first before deciding to participate. Will uninstall.
Excellent app and just what the doctor ordered (forgive the pun). Why didnt someone do this before?
There are many useful features in this app for people with insomnia. Sadly, it is limited to a certain segment of the population. People who cannot afford or do not have an iWatch or iPhone cannot use it. A large majority of lower income people have sleeping disorders, so they wont be captured. Also, you would think that the Steps part of this app would work on a 5th generation iPod Touch with Wi-Fi always turned on, but the app doesnt ask for your location, so maybe it relies on GPS only? I am getting no steps recorded.
In its current state this app is little more than a sleep journal. It doesnt do anything at all to detect sleep, it merely asks questions. You have to tell it how long you sleep. You have to judge the quality of your sleep. You have to determine how long it took you to fall asleep. The watch app is nothing more than a series of buttons. The one button thats not there? The "Im going to sleep" button. Thats right, you *cannot* tells this "sleep tracker" that youre attempting to sleep. Presumably thats because that would reveal that it cant actually observe your sleep. So if youre looking for an app that will keep pestering you with questions, this is one for you. If youre looking for something that actually attempts to do something, look elsewhere.
All the tasks reset at midnight, so you cant complete a bunch of the surveys. Definitely problematic for me.
I just came back to drop a single star review at this piece of junk. Guys, I was ready to participate, spent a lot of time setting up the app, but I never received the confirmation email so I could not use it. I spelled the email correctly and checked my spam folder. I recommend not paying the developer who made this useless pice of software. App deleted, bye.
This app, despite press covering it, does not appear to use the Apple Watch to automatically track sleep by monitoring heart rate and movement. It also appears to not be able to read sleep data from HealthKit
This app is suppose to track your sleep but it doesnt sync the data to the iOS Health app, the only way to do it is to enter it manually.
